Morning after breakfast, drive to Hassan enroute visit Shravanabelagola, one of the world-renowned Jain pilgrimage sites in India. Shravanabelagola, a revered Jain pilgrimage town in Hassan district, is famous for its 58-foot monolithic statue of Lord Bahubali. Visitors come to admire its spiritual significance, historic temples, and the stunning views from the twin hills of Vindhyagiri and Chandragiri.

The Vindhyagiri hill, which houses this towering and sacred statue of Lord Bahubali, shines as the crown jewel among Jain pilgrimage sites. This site, home to 40 Jain temples, holds the highest number of stone inscriptions (573) in Karnataka, including the earliest Marathi inscription, various Nishidhi mandapas (memorials), and sacred Kalyanis (tanks). Shravanabelagola, beautifully adorned and historically rich for over 2300 years

Visit Halebid – Hoysala temples with outstanding stone carvings & Belur – the Chennakesava Temple famous for detailed sculptures. Chennakesava temple commemorates Vishnuvardhana’s military victory over the Chola Empire and his conversion from Jainism to Vaishnavism. It became the principal shrine of the Hoysala capital and remained an important Vaishnava pilgrimage center. Later rulers from the Vijayanagara Empire and Wodeyar dynasties contributed renovations and festivals that preserved its prominence through centuries and afterwards will head towards Hoysaleswara temple is a masterpiece of Hoysala architecture, built from soapstone (chloritic schist), which allowed artisans to carve intricate sculptures and friezes. Government Botanical Garden • Local Market Visit

Morning after breakfast, drive to Ooty, a charming hill station in the Nilgiri Hills, famous for tea estates, forests, and cool climate. En route enjoy scenic photo stops and short walks. As Ooty is located in the Nilgiri Hills and serves as the district headquarters of Nilgiris. Known as the "Queen of Hill Stations" or the "Switzerland of India," it was originally inhabited by the Toda people and later became the summer capital of the Madras Presidency during British rule. The town is famous for its tea plantations, Nilgiri tea, floriculture, and dairy farming. Later after Hotel Check in we will experience the beauty of Nilgiri at the Government Botanical Garden and local market visit.

Toy Train • Doddabetta Peak

This morning we will start with one thing that promises to be a highlight of your visit to Ooty is the Nilgiri Mountain Railway experience. More commonly known as the Ooty Toy train, the experience you get here is really out of the world. The track runs completely through the picturesque Nilgiri Mountains and the journey is worth the time spent in the train.

Initially the mountain train was pulled by a steam locomotive, but now this is sometimes replaced by a diesel one to give the train more pull. The carriages have always remained the same blue and cream color and it is easily recognized from many South Indian movies and get ready for the most scenic view of Rising above the misty green valleys of Ooty standing tall at 2,637 metres, Doddabetta lives up to its name, which translates to “big mountain.” Perfectly placed between the Eastern and the western Ghats, the Doddabetta peak is the perfect destination to head to if you wish to cherish the beauty of the landscape of the Nilgiris in its entirety. Offering a bird’s eye view of Ooty framed by the misty green hills of the Nilgiris, Doddabetta is a challenging yet rewarding climb of almost 3 km. A long trail winding through grassy slopes is disturbed only by the foggy mountain breeze and will take you to an awe-inspiring view of Ooty in the backdrop of the rolling Nilgiri hills.

Cochin Fort • Kathakali

Morning after breakfast, a long drive to Cochin. En route pass tea plantations, villages and countryside landscapes offering a look into rural South India. On arrival check-in at the hotel. In the evening, we will head to Kochi Fort.

Since the beginning of the Common Era, Arabian and Chinese traders sourced spices, especially pepper, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, sandal wood, etc. from the Kochi region. Cultivation and trade of these valuable goods shaped the history of the region. Even today, Kochi is an important centre of spice export. The Arabian traders were the first to know about these spices, and they carried the highly wanted merchandise to Europe. Centuries later, they were followed by the Portuguese, then the Dutch, and afterwards the British and there experience the world famous Kathakali performance, as kathakali, one of the nine recognized classical dance forms of India, It is based on subject matter from the Indian epics Ramayana and Mahabharata, and stories from Shiva literature. Kathakali combines dance, drama, music, and acting. The name kathakali is derived from the Malayalam words katha (“story”) and kali (“play”), reflecting its origins as a form of dramatic storytelling. Traditionally, kathakali is performed exclusively by men and young boys who play the parts of both males and females. The dancers are dedicated to its practice throughout their lives.

Morning after breakfast proceed for a city tour covering the Chinese Fishing Nets, The Chinese fishing nets (Cheena Vala) in Fort Kochi are iconic shore-operated lift nets, introduced by Chinese explorers in the 14th century, and remain a major tourist attraction in Kerala and following Dhobi Ghat. Dhobi Ghat is a typical laundry style in India. The launderers of the Dhobi Khana in Fort Kochi use the traditional method of hanging clothes on ropes to dry the washed clothes. The drying area is a large open space with ropes and clips to prevent the clothes from flying away. During the monsoon season, the community uses electric dryers to dry the clothes.

And later the St. Francis Church, This Church originally built in 1503, is one of the oldest European churches in India and has historical significance as a witness to the European colonial ambitions in the subcontinent. The Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama died in Kochi in 1524 when he was on his third visit to India. His body was originally buried in this church, but after fourteen years his remains were relocated to Lisbon and is now interred at Jerónimos Monastery.

And the next stop is Santa Cruz Basilica and it is a historic Roman Catholic church located in Fort Kochi, Kerala, India. It is one of the oldest and most prominent churches in Kerala and holds significant religious and architectural importance. The Santa Cruz Cathedral Basilica in Fort Kochi is one of the eight Basilicas in India. And the Journey continues to be a cherished landmark and spiritual sanctuary for believers and visitors alike., Jewish Synagogue and Jew Town, and the Dutch Palace (Mattancherry Palace).

Vivekananda Mandapam • Thiruvalluvar Statue

Morning after breakfast, a long drive to Madurai enroute visit Kanyakumari the southernmost tip of mainland India where the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, and Indian Ocean meet. Kanyakumari, the ancient town with historical richness, has great religious significance too. Its location of being the southernmost part of India adds further charm to it.

Visit Vivekananda Rock Memorial: Vivekananda Rock Memorial was built in 1970, in the honor of great Indian saint Swami Vivekananda, who visited Kanyakumari in 1892. Swami Vivekananda had meditated on this rock for two days; this was a few days before his trip to Chicago for the World Religious Conference. Also known as Vivekananda Mandapam, this rock memorial presents architectural beauty, with its structure resembling the Sri Ramakrishna Temple of Belur.

This rock is also religiously significant as it is blessed with the foot imprint of Goddess Kanyakumari. Hence, along with visiting rock memorial, people here visit to seek blessings at Sripada Mandapam. The scenic beauty of this place is equally enchanting and Thiruvalluvar Statue, so Kanyakumari tour is not complete without visiting the majestic statue of Saint Thiruvalluvar. This Statue has been built 133 feet long so as to represent the 133 chapters of masterpiece Thirukkural. It has a 38 feet long pedestal, which is symbolic of 38 chapters of virtues in Thirukkural.

Later visiting the famous Home to the renowned Ramanathaswamy Temple, Rameswaram is one of the holiest places for Hindus in India and is also a Char Dham pilgrimage site (four important Hindu pilgrimage sites). Ramanathaswamy Temple known for its majestic corridors, towering gopurams and sacred water tanks & local temples in Rameswaram.

Though nestled on Pamban Island, Rameswaram remains firmly linked to the mainland by the impressive Pamban Bridge, a true marvel of human engineering. Intriguingly, Rameswaram sits closest to Sri Lanka, and whispers of history suggest a bygone land bridge – the legendary Ram Setu – once connected the two nations, and there we visit Dhanushkodi. One of the most exotic adornments in the vast coastline of Tamil Nadu is the picturesque Dhanushkodi Beach. Here the Indian Ocean meets the Bay of Bengal and the spot can be viewed from Dhanushkodi. It is believed that Lord Rama, from the Indian epic of Ramayana, pointed to the end of his bow and asked his troops to build a bridge across the ocean to reach the demon king Ravana’s Lanka.

Step back in time as you marvel at the glorious testament of engineering and artistry that is the Descent of the Ganges, also known locally as Arjuna's Penance. Carved on two monolithic rock boulders, this giant open-air rock relief stands tall at 29 metres by 13 meters, depicting the legendary story of the descent of the sacred river Ganges from the heavens to earth, led by the legendary king Bhagiratha. It is one of India's best rock-cut sculptures, showcasing the architectural and artistic prowess of the Pallava Dynasty, which ruled from the 4th to the 9th centuries.
