Kathmandu Durbar Square, situated in the heart of Kathmandu, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its stunning architecture, palaces, temples, and courtyards. It was once the royal palace of the Malla and Shah kings of Nepal. The square is a bustling hub of activity, with locals and tourists alike wandering amidst the intricately carved wooden buildings, ancient temples, and statues. After sightseeing, a carefully curated guided heritage walk will offer a fascinating glimpse into the historic and cultural soul of Kathmandu. The walk begins at the bustling and vibrant Indra chowk, one of the city’s oldest market squares. Once a major stop on ancient trans-Himalayan trade routes, Indra chowk continues to thrive as a center of commerce. The square is a whirlwind of activity with shops selling colorful textiles, spices, and ceremonial items. Overlooking the square is the Akash Bhairab Temple, a sacred shrine dedicated to the sky form of Bhairab—a fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva. 

From Indra chowk, the walk flows into the pearl and bead market, a narrow lane where generations of traders have sold freshwater pearls, coral beads, turquoise stones, and traditional mala (prayer bead) necklaces. Artisans and shopkeepers proudly display handcrafted Newari jewelry, offering an insight into Kathmandu's age-old mercantile culture.

Just ahead lies Jana Bahal, the sacred courtyard that houses the SetoMachhindranath Temple—a deity venerated by both Hindus and Buddhists as the god of compassion and rain. 

Next, you’ll reach the beating heart of the old bazaar—Asan. This six-way intersection is one of the oldest marketplaces in Kathmandu, historically and commercially vital. It is a feast for the senses: Spices piled in neat pyramids, dried herbs, fresh vegetables, copper pots, incense, and religious offerings all coexist in a sensory kaleidoscope. Asan is particularly known for its Spice Market, where the rich aroma of turmeric, cumin, dried red chilies, coriander, and fenugreek fills the air. You’ll also find vendors selling seasonal flowers, grains, religious statues, and ceremonial garlands, all framed by old Newari buildings and roadside shrines.

The walk concludes at Jamal, a more tranquil area located just beyond the old city core. Historically linked to royal processions and cultural events, Jamal marks a gentle transition from the ancient bazaar quarters to the emerging modern Kathmandu. Your vehicle will meet you here for the short transfer back to your hotel.

Sightseeing of Bungamti • Khokana & Patan Durbar Square • Healing/Singing Bowl Therapy Session

After breakfast, drive to Bungamati, a classical medieval village which lies across the Bagmati River from Chobar, dominated by the huge Shikhara, Rato Machhindranath temple of its major attraction, exploring the pedestrian-only street. Many locals work as woodcarvers and there are numerous craft workshops and showrooms around the village. It is believed that Bungamati is birthplace of Rato Machindranath, the patron of Patan who lives in RatoMachindranath temple for six months of a year and rest of time the deity resides in RatoMachhindranath temple in Patan.

Then you will visit Khokana. It is a traditional Newari village; we find a maximum Newar community there. The village is famous for cultivation of mustard and extracting mustard oil. A visit to Khokana is a cultural sightseeing where we can also enjoy seeing the traditional people and their lifestyle. Khokana has been nominated to be listed as a UNESCO World Heritage, representing a vernacular village and its mustard-oil seed industrial heritage.

At last visit Patan Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its exquisite Newari architecture. This historic square is a treasure trove of temples, statues, and courtyards, each narrating tales of Nepal’s rich history and artistic heritage. Highlights of your visit include the Krishna Mandir, an iconic temple constructed entirely of stone, and the Golden Temple (Hiranya Varna Mahavihar), a beautiful 12th-century Buddhist monastery. Next, visit Patan Museum, housed in an ancient palace, showcasing traditional art and artifacts

Manakamana Temple 

After breakfast, you will drive to Kurintar, a scenic journey of about 105 km that takes around 3-4 hours. Leaving the Kathmandu Valley, the road follows the Prithvi Highway alongside the Trishuli River, offering views of green hills, riverside settlements, and roadside eateries. The route is lively yet relaxing, making it a pleasant drive toward Kurintar, the gateway to Manakamana Temple. Upon arriving check-in at the hotel and rest for sometime.

Next, you will visit Manakamana Temple, one of the most revered Hindu pilgrimage sites in Nepal, dedicated to Goddess Bhagwati. The temple is traditionally reached by cable car, offering spectacular aerial views of the Trishuli River, terraced hills, and surrounding landscapes. Devotees believe that wishes made at Manakamana are fulfilled, making this visit both spiritually significant and culturally enriching. The Manakamana temple rests on a 1300-meter hill, overlooking the Marshyangdi and Trishuli rivers, west of the capital city of Kathmandu. The hilltop location also allows pilgrims to catch breathtaking views of the Annapurna, Himalchuli and Manaslu peaks. The Manakamana Temple is a holy Hindu site in Nepal's Gorkha district. The temple is on top of a hill and looks out over the valley of the Trishuli River and the beautiful Himalayas in the distance.

1 Night in Kurintar

Tharu Cultural Dance

After breakfast, you will depart Kurintar and drive to Chitwan, a journey that takes approximately 5-6 hours. Upon arrival in Chitwan, you will check into your hotel and have a delicious lunch & some time to rest and freshen up.

In the afternoon, you will begin your jungle activities. You have the opportunity to visit a local village and learn about the traditional lifestyle of the Tharu people. In the evening, you will attend a cultural performance featuring traditional Tharu music and dance.

2 Night in Chitwan

Canoe Safari•Bird Watching • Jeep Safari

Full Day Engage in Various Jungle Activities. 

After breakfast, you will continue your jungle adventure with a full day of activities. You will go on a canoe ride down the Rapti River, where you can observe various species of birds, crocodiles, and other wildlife. You will also have the opportunity to go on a jeep safari to explore the jungle and see animals such as one-horned rhinoceroses, Bengal tigers, and sloth bears.

Canoe Safari: A canoe ride is an excellent way to enjoy the unique ecosystem around the rivers and floodplains. Mugger crocodiles and Gharials basking on banks, storks, ducks, kingfishers along with otters, turtles and if lucky, even a fishing cat, are some of the creatures to watch out for. The comfortable wooden oar boats glide noiselessly, maneuvered by expert oarsmen while naturalists explain the world around the water. The boats are equipped with life jackets and the boatmen are expert swimmers who also act as lifeguards. 

Bird Watching: Chitwan is rightly considered a bird watcher's paradise. Exotic birds such as the highly endangered Bengal florican and the glorious paradise flycatcher, as well as a range of colorful sunbirds, kingfishers and jungle fowl, call this forest their home. 

Jeep Safari/Safari Drives: Safari drives are conducted by expert naturalists in specially designed 4X4 vehicles with theatre style seating. Along with the thrill of tiger tracking, is a memorable stop for a picnic breakfast. The dense jungles of Chitwan have large stretches of Sal with a closed canopy. A safari drive through these patches, with trees towering above and reams of sunlight breaking through the thick canopy is an enchanting experience. Seated in a specially designed safari vehicle, guests drive around the jungle, accompanied by a trained naturalist and an experienced tracker from the local community. The one horned Rhinoceros is the star of Chitwan and is usually spotted in open woods and grasslands. Along with mammals, the forest has 56 species of reptiles and amphibians, the most commonly spotted ones being the monitor lizards and pythons.

Sacred Garden Maya Devi Temple • Ashoka Pillar

After breakfast, start your scenic drive which is approx. 170 km to Lumbini from Chitwan, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel, rest/refresh.

After some leisure time, you will proceed to visit the renowned Maya Devi Temple, the sacred site marking the birthplace of Lord Buddha. This historic temple, with its tranquil atmosphere, holds great significance for Buddhists worldwide. Inside, you'll find the Marker Stone, believed to pinpoint the exact spot where Buddha was born, as well as ancient ruins and a sacred pond where Maya Devi is said to have bathed before giving birth.

Next, visit the Ashoka Pillar, a historical monument erected by Emperor Ashoka in 249 BCE. This pillar stands as a testament to Ashoka’s dedication to spreading Buddhism across his empire. Carved with inscriptions in Brahmi script, it marks Lumbini as Buddha’s birthplace. It’s an inspiring reminder of the deep-rooted legacy of Buddhism in the region. Then, visit Stone Pillars. King Piyadasi, beloved of the gods, having been anointed twenty years, came himself and worshipped saying: Here Buddha Shakyamuni was born. World Peace Pagoda • Eternal Flame

After breakfast, we will visit the serene World Peace Pagoda, Lumbini, a gleaming white stupa symbolizing harmony and unity. Built by Japanese Buddhists, this impressive structure promotes peace for all nations. Surrounded by lush gardens and overlooking the vast Lumbini Monastic Zone, it offers a peaceful space for reflection and meditation.

After that visit to the Eternal Flame, a flame that has burned continuously since it was lit as part of the Lumbini Peace Ceremony in 1986. This flame represents the everlasting hope for peace among all people and is a powerful reminder of Buddha’s teachings. Located in a quiet, contemplative area, it provides a serene end to your day’s exploration of Lumbini.

After concluding your sightseeing at Lumbini, you will continue your journey to Tansen Palpa, the most famous hill station in the western part of Himalayan country Nepal, which is a small ancient hill town situated 4300 meters above sea level. The weather here makes it a pleasant place to visit in any season. On clear days Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manaslu, Gauri Shankar and other peaks can be seen.

Phewa Lake • Market Visit

After breakfast, continue your journey to Pokhara, a scenic city located at the base of the Annapurna massif. The drive takes around 3-4 hours depending upon road condition and passes through beautiful landscapes and small towns. Upon arrival in Pokhara, we'll check into our hotel and rest for the remainder of the day.

In the evening, head out to explore the vibrant Lakeside area, a lively stretch along the shores of Phewa Lake and later visit the Market and there stroll through the colorful streets lined with shops, cafés, and restaurants, enjoy the peaceful lake views as the sun sets behind the mountains, and perhaps indulge in some local cuisine or live music at one of the many cozy eateries. The relaxed ambiance of Lakeside in the evening perfectly caps off a rewarding day of travel.

3 Night in Pokhara

(Distance: approx. 118 kms; Driving time: approx. 3.5 hours)

Early morning excursion to Sarangkot • Bindabasini Temple • Devi’s Fall • Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave • Boat Ride at Phewa Lake

Early in the morning you will visit Sarangkot, which provides a panoramic view of Pokhara. Tourists drive up the hill to see the sunrise from the top of the hill's view tower. Sarangkot provides a relaxing and admiring view of the breathtaking views of the mountains on one side and Phewa Lake on the other. 

Next, you will visit Bindhabasinitemple which is one of the famous temples of Nepal. It is devoted to the Hindu goddess Bindhyabasini, a Bhagawati who is believed to be the guardian deity of the city of lakes. It is the oldest temple in Pokhara. Enthroned on top of a small hill, the Bindhyabasini temple rests quietly beside an old busy bazaar, 3002 feet above sea level gawking at the glorious Himalayan ranges.

Later, drive to Devi’s Fall is a ferocious waterfall. The source of the waterfall is Phewa Lake and the fall itself is named after a Swiss lady who was swept away by the fall in 1961. The fall cuts through the rocks to create complex caves and tunnels on its path. 

Next, head towards Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, a sacred cave located near Devi’s Fall. The cave is dedicated to Lord Shiva and has a natural rock formation that resembles the Shiva Lingam. The cave sits across Davi's fall, and inside the cave, one can hear the thundering sound of water. As per the local beliefs, the cave was said to be discovered in the 16th century. During those times, there weren't any sort of modern-day decorations that you see today. 

Later in the afternoon, head to Phewa Lake for a tranquil boating experience, admiring the reflection of the mountains on the crystal-clear waters. Visit the Tal Barahi Temple situated on an island in the lake. Relish in the peaceful ambiance of Pokhara as you unwind from your journey, enjoying moments of serenity by the lakeside.

Tibetan Refugee Camp • Pumdikot • World Peace Pagoda (Shanti Stupa)

After breakfast, explore the Tibetan Refugee Camp in Pokhara which offers a glimpse into the Tibetan community's rich culture and heritage. Established to provide refuge to Tibetans fleeing their homeland, it showcases traditional Tibetan craftsmanship, including carpet weaving and handicrafts. Visitors can explore the camp, interact with the friendly residents, and purchase authentic Tibetan souvenirs. The serene surroundings and warm hospitality make it a unique cultural experience in Pokhara.

Next you will visit Pumdikot. It is one of the major attractions of Pokhara Sightseeing. It is an emerging local attraction for domestic and international travelers. The Shiva Statue in Pumdikot was built in Mathura of India and then brought here in Nepal and installed. Pumdikot Shiva Statue is located in the southern part of Pokhara at an elevation of 1500 meters from sea level. Another attraction of Pumdikot Shiva Temple which is the biggest in Asia. Besides the religious perspective, a large number of domestic travelers used to travel to enjoy the beauty of nature. You can enjoy the magnificent view of the Annapurna Range mountains along with Manaslu Himal. 

Lastly you will visit World Peace Pagoda Also known as Shanti Stupa, World Peace Pagoda is a Buddhist pagoda style monument located on a hilltop overlooking the Phewa Lake. This is the second shanti stupa in Nepal after the one in Lumbini. This stupa which is now a leading tourist attraction in Pokhara saw a topsy ride from its inception back in 1947. World Peace Pagoda offers amazing trekking options from the southeastern shore of Phewa Lake. Apart from the stunning view of the mountains and lake, one can also enjoy a splendid view of sunrise and sunset from this stupa.

After breakfast, you will check out from your hotel and drive to Bandipur. The journey covers approximately 77 kilometers and is expected to take around 2 to 3 hours’ drive depending upon the road condition.

After breakfast at the hotel, you will drive to Changu Narayan Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site perched atop a small hill in Bhaktapur district. Changu Narayan is one of the best-known Vishnu temples in Nepal (Narayan is another name for Vishnu) and is visited by a large number of devotees. At the front of the temple stands a beautiful statue of Garuda dating back to the 5th century Lichchhavi period.

After that visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square, an ancient city renowned for its well-preserved medieval architecture, temples, and courtyards. Wander through the narrow alleys of admiring the intricately carved wooden structures and traditional Newari craftsmanship. Pashupatinath Temple • Boudhanath Stupa • Thamel

After breakfast, visit PashupatinathTemple, with its astonishing architectural beauty, stands as a symbol of faith, religion, culture and tradition. Pashupatinath is regarded as one of the most sacred temples of Hindu Lord Shiva in the world and its existence dates back to 400 A.D. The richly-ornamented pagoda houses the sacred linga or phallic symbol of Lord Shiva. Next you will visit Boudhanath Stupa, the largest stupa in the Valley and one of the largest in the world.
